    Hey guys,
    I just got my new MBP (2.4) and the thing is super sexy. But it also smells like new electronics, a wonderful smell. I wish they bottled it and sold it as cologne. I am very happy with the MBP, though all I have done is download updates! :)

    Apple smell - the only thing in the whole wide world that beats new car smell :) (it's also much cheaper!)

    I love that smell too. I knew I wasnt the only one. This is why I put the box in a large airtight bag ever since i got it. every once in a while i put my macbook pro in the box for a couple days and when i open it it smells new again.

    Actually, believe it or not, the smell is bad for your lungs based on a news report I heard a couple of years ago (this also goes for the new car smells).

    It's basically the chemicals used to make the plastic -- they're vaporized.

    I do not think that it will smell any better than other material, just some personal feeling.

    Unfortunately, that is not the smell of new electronics; rather, it is the faint, lingering remnants of the sweat that dripped off the underpaid child workers in the third world factory in which the device was constructed.
