Hi. My dad's Macbook (Early 2008 black plastic) got its screen cracked today, I wanna know how much it will cost to get it fixed. I live in the Philippines, so a price in Philippine Peso would be nice.

It still is under warranty, btw.

You will only get rough guesses from here. Best to call Apple directly and ask them what the cost will be, or take it to a local Apple store to find out. They should also be able to tell you the price in your own currency, or you can use one of the many currency converters on the Internet to figure it out for yourself.

DIY cost would be the cost of the LCD via eBay figure $80 - $100 USD
    Then a little time.
The most difficult part is plugging back in the inverter cable.
This can be done with a diy tool such as a stiff wire paperclip.
Straighten out the paperclip and then place a 45 degree angle about
    1/4" up from one end.
Then place that end into the blank space hole between the two wires on the inverter plug, now you have the means to reach in to align the plug with the socket.
If this fails, then you will need to do further macbook tear down.

I called them, but then the call got cut for some reason when the service rep was about to say the price.

And I don't have exp with DIY screen changes.

Well, since the entire LCD assemble should be removed to replace the panel, the guide is relevant. Some sellers recommend that one should replace the panel without taking off the assembly, and I discourage this completely. Take the extra steps and time, and you will be glad you did.
