Hey guys, I plan on getting a Macbook Pro by or in June 08. I had originally planned to get a HP 8510p or Lenovo, but in Sweden the first won't be released in any resolution lower than WSXGA (I need to do schoolwork, so I don't want too small text) and the second is ridiculously expensive in Sweden. So now I think a MBP is the best choice, as there is a 10% student discount for Swedes :). I watched the tutorials and read about Leopard and so far I am impressed. I would dual boot with Vista (Swedish student discount) so I can use Office Ultimate 2007 ($60 deal for university students that I couldn't pass up). I am looking at the cheapest 15" MBP, and I have a few questions.

    1) I saw that June 5th this year the current Santa Rosa MBP was released, but was that a simultaneous worldwide release?

    2) How many new models of the MBP are released a year and at what time frame(s)? If there are simultaneous worldwide releases, I need to know if I should wait until June 08 before purchasing.

    3) I see on the Apple Sweden shop that the MBP can be ordered with an International English keyboard. Does this keyboard include characters from other languages like: å ä ö æ é ß ? If it does that would be great, as I need to type in several languages.

    4) Does Mac OSX Leopard allow for the typing language to be changed? I know you can do this in Windows, and it is important, but not critical. I could boot into Vista if not.

    5) Is there preinstalled or included software on MBPs to watch DVDs and burn CDs/DVDs?

    6) What could be expected to be included with the 2008 model(s) of the MBP (e.g. specifications)?

Thanks in advance for your help! :)

Edit: I guess it didn't up being a couple of questions, but six. :)

    1) It usually takes a few weeks for it to arrive worldwide, depending on where you are, but it should have been all in stock by July.

    2) You will want to look at MBP updates following updates from Intel. So the next expected update is early 2008 (maybe January), with the release of Penryn. Then its the second quarter of 2008, with Montevina, and the second half of 2008 with Nehalem. So there's three expected updates of the MBP next year.

    3) I don't know, sorry. See if someone else who has this type of keyboard can answer it.

    4) You can change the entire language of OS X, if that's what you mean.

    5) Yes, that's all included right out of the box.

    6) Probably larger/faster hard drives, the new Intel hardware, probably a redesign sometime next year.
