    Hey guys,

I was wondering if theres a way to convert a pdf to a word document for free.

Im trying to make notes for my final and I want to take things from the pdf readings we have, and I don't want to have to type everything out when I want to quote it and copying and pasting is always way easier but you cant do that with any of the pdf's that I have

    Thanks

You can select and copy text or graphics out of PDFs using Adobe Reader in Windows, I use this feature all the time. Probably the Mac version is the same, go to adobe.com and grab a copy and see if that does it for you.

Another way I just thought of is to mail a copy of the PDF to your gmail account if you have one. Then, go find the message in gmail and view the attachment as HTML. You can copy whatever you want out of the browser window.

As long as the PDF is one column, Preview will copy and paste the text without issue. Remember though a PDF is basically an image, so if these notes are things like copied pages from a book, the software will have to use text recognition to do it, and I don't think Preview can handle that.
