I have a video file in the form of an .img file and I want to burn it to a DVD so it can play on my home DVD player. What do I need to do in order to burn it correctly? I've done a little looking and it seems like perhaps converting it to a .iso file first and then buring it to a DVD-R might work but, I'm not sure. Any ideas?

no need to conver it , just need a burning software that can handle .img files, i usually use alcohol 120% or poweriso, any of these two will let you burn the image file to a playable dvd on you home player

Ok well, I'm on a Mac so neither of these programs are available to me. However, I think I have equivilant software that can perform the same task. I guess the problem is that I don't know how to use the software. Any Mac users out there who can give me a quick tutorial? I have Toast 8 installed if that helps.

Disk Utility should be able to burn a .img. Now that may not work in a DVD player though because it will want a mpeg-2 format but you can burn images using the built in disk utility.

In Toast 8, click on COPY in the left side bar, click on IMAGE FILE in the dropdown list, and select the .img file from the main window.

    Thanks, I'll try that.

In the meantime, I tried mounting the .img file and then drag-dropping the DVD file fro the Desktop into Toast and then burning it. Its looks like it worked but, I won't know until I get home and put it in the DVD player.
