Hi, I have a presentation in college tomorrow. Everyone with PC laptops have connected their laptop to the overhead projector in class. However, I hear that Mac's aren't so easy to connect.

Anybody know what I need? Thanks.

Bring a DVI to VGA adapter. You probably got one in the box with your MBP.

edit: and once it's plugged in, is there a key I have to hit to make it work? I know the guys on PC were hitting like F7 or something.

Its the F7 key on the MacBook (pre-Santa Rosa), I'm not sure what they are on other Macs. Alternatively, you can go into System Preferences and under Display press Detect Displays, and it'll automatically recognize the overhead projector.

lol you learn something new everyday. thanks sam

F7 on MBP seems to change the display type on external display. From Mirrored(clone) to extended desktop.

Just go into System Prefs>Displays to adjust the resolution of each monitor after its connected up.

And if it doesnt work for some reason, you might have to restart your computer with the external display plugged out, then plug it in when OSX is up and running.
