In the Finder under "Places" I have my computer name which is not my first name.. it's just a silly name. The thing is that the name keeps popping up as my name when I am filling out forms, etc.
Under system settings, in "Accounts" I have the "user name" set as my first name.. not really understanding why the computer name is coming up as the first name.
Thanks

I'm not sure where this would be in the Mac environment, but Windows has you setup a computer name (a network ID for the computer) and a user name when you first install. Generally, though, the user name should be the default form entry.
A quick glance-through of the Mac OS X system preferences doesn't turn up anything like that, though (in XP, it's located on the System Properties control sheet), so I'm not sure what to suggest. -
Go to System Preferences -> Internet & Network -> Sharing

The Computer Name should appear under Devices in the Finder Sidebar (if you have this option selected in the Finder Preferences). You can follow sagebrush's instructions to change the Computer Name.
The User Name should be the same name of the Home folder which is shown under Places in the Sidebar.
Check Address Book.app (in the Applications folder) for your personal information entry. I think this is where the Forms get information from. -
man.. that sucks. I think that my username is the stupid name then. I see it under "places" in the sidebar. Is there any way to change that? Would I have to make a new administrator profile? I tried it but I don't know how to transfer all the info. over so that it looks the same.
Computer Name
