I've been thinking about getting the 15 in. MBP with the 256mb video card and I had a few questions about some games that it will run. I would rather not have to use bootcamp to run XP. The main reason I'm getting a mac if for the ilife bundle and finalcut pro, but it would be nice to know if some of the games I like to play are going to work.

I don't play much besides World of Warcraft and Counterstrike Source so those are they only two i'm curious about. Some friends of mine say warcraft plays well on the 13 in. macbooks so I'm not worried about it playing that, just curious if anyone can give me info on how well it would perform at max settings.

I'm more interested in whether or not steam will run in os x. A friend of mine said it does but I just looked at the steam website and it says it doesn't run on macs. Anyway, any info on either subject would be appreciated.

you can run WoW maxed out with the 128 meg video card. positive.

however, you cannot run steam in osx.

you might be able to come up with a solution- using either parallels or vmware.

but ultimately, you cannot run steam natively in osx. to play counter strike and the like you will need some form of 3d windows access. right now the only good solution is bootcamp, but parallels and vmware are chugging right along.

ok another question for you, since I would have to use boot camp to play css, would there be any reason to use os x for wow or should i just run it in xp for performance reasons? and if so how much better would it run?
