Does anyone know how Coconut Battery determines the age of a MacBook?

As you can see from this screenshot, it does so erroneously on my MBP.

My MacBook Pro is about a month old.

I believe it looks at the serial number and so it may not be able to recognize the newer models.

I don't know how it could be relying on serial number, because Coconut Battery reports on the age of my older MB correct to the exact month, and I didn't buy it until a few months after it came out.

Because the serial number tells you the following: First 2 digits are the factory, 3rd digit is the year, 4th and 5th digits are the week it was produced.

Unless Apple has changed the way assign serial numbers, this should still apply.
