If you want to play CoD4 on a Mac, play it through Bootcamp. Ports for the Mac are always slower, crash more often, etc.

won't be quite as fast, but you WILL be able to play without rebooting.

i was excited about it earlier today, but i just got a job that requires windows, so my CoD4ing will be on that side.

Well the requirements are for 10.5.4, but 10.5.5 is going to come out soon and based on the reports by AppleInsider, the graphics drivers have been given a work over since Apple's requested developers test them through the successive builds. Here's hoping they'll be optimized for CoD4. And thankfully it's a native port.

Spore is awesome. Rocking that game on my new Macbook Pro :D . When I first started I didn't no what to think. After playing it for a while I'm hooked. This game is Craaazy. So no bootcamp needed for that.

Yeah spore is great but the DRM is ridiculous. Signing up with an account for on-line registration that confirms activation through servers that may no longer be viable in the future. Then of course limited to 3 registered installs. My fault really for not looking into the product more clearly before purchasing it. DRM is great to protect developers but not at the cost of consumers. Fortunately I am not required to have the CD in the drive at all times in order to play the game.

Moving to Mac, hope that means a Linux native port too.

I HIGHLY doubt it. The only non-open source game I've seen that was ported to Linux was Gish.
I thought this was out ages ago... xD.

I've played CoD4 on my MBP using Boot Camp in Vista and it run's marvelously well, until the heavy firefights erupt forcing me to scale the graphics options back a bit.

If I'm not mistaken, all of Blizzard's games a Mac compatible to begin with, right?
