While in the apple store yesterday playing with the MBP for about an hour, I realized how much I would love to work there. So I went home made up my resume and applied online! Now its a waiting game!

I assume minimum wage for the Apple store? But I'm sure they make up for that in other benefits such as discounts, store atmosphere etc.

Just make sure to be persistent, it is a pretty competitive position so make sure to give it your all, don't be afraid to stop in the store and let a manager know of your interest and that you have applied.

Why would I know anything about Apple retail? I could tell you but I would have to. . .

I applied on Sat night, so I think I'm gonna give them a call on Wednesday just to show interest. Do you think that's pushing it?

No, I wouldn't think that's pushing it at all, just showing your interest in working with them! ;)

Hahah, alright! I applied online though, I didn't bring an application into my local store. Would they have my application on file even tho it was electronically submitted?

You can submit apps online? They probably get a lot :| I would of taken it into them, just so they actually can put a face to it. Not just another online app.

They most likely won't even take your application in person. It is definitely good to do a little bit of reverse gladhanding though, to show that you really are a human being. The biggest thing really is your state of mind, it has little to do with your overall knowledge of technology. Although it won't hurt to know your stuff.

Be sociable, don't burst into tears, say hello, make them remember your name, don't forget to actually tell them who you are. Make an impression. And give it some time. Make sure to keep updating your resume online as well whenever you can.

Now, while I certainly hope you get the job, keep in mind that working at Apple is, well, a JOB. Once you get good and settled in you'll soon forget that it's "APPLE" and it will become just another career move. Working for Apple and being a customer are entirely 2 different things. You won't be the same fanboy working there as you are when you are on the other side of the fence as a customer lusting after their products.
Good luck, let us know when you get hired. :)

Well I 100% agree with you, I just wanted to let you know the only Apple product I own currently is an iPod touch. So I haven't really become an Apple fanboy just yet! What drove me there is well right now my major in college is chemical engineering, I hate it! I'm only a freshmen so plenty of time to change, and I absolutely love my marketing and public relations class. So what drove me to apple, well of course they have by far one of the best if not the best marketing divisions I've ever seen. =)

Ooh, chemical engineering is a tough major. . I major in mechanical engineering, and it's a ton of work. Anyways, Apple has a great marketing department, and if you major in marketing, that would be a surefire example of a good marketing company.

So I called them today and talked to a nice woman but it really didn't get me anywhere. What she said was that each apple store doesn't really handle there own employment and they do not have access to the applications, but some database in California will go over it and then set me up for an interview or something if they see fit.
