Ok, My father got some finger prints on my screen, and I cleaned it using some microfiber cloths and lens cleaner. It is clean and clear, however when sunlight or artificial is hitting it at certain angles/ when I look at it at certain angles I can see streaks.

What can I use to clean the screen that won't leave streaks no matter the lighting or viewing angle.

Right off the bat people are going to recommend iKlear, however I don't feel like paying 20 bucks for such a small amount of the stuff.

I don't know if you have a local Radio Shack, but this is what I recommend.

Go and get Monster ScreenClean. It's a Home & Office Display cleaner that can clean any type of display. It's formulated with no dripping, and cleans without staining or streaking and leaves no film or residue. (Yes its from Monster the company that makes the high quality cables for A/V equipments)

Its safe and alcohol-free, it also removes dust, dirt and finger prints, and the formula is also suppose to have something in it that makes the screen less anti-static thus causing less dust build up over time.

It comes in a big 6.7 Oz bottle with its own microfiber cloth. BIG Bottle. ;)

Highly recommended from me, it works both on matte and gloss screens. Before I forget, yes it's 20 bucks as well, but your getting much more of it.

windex. no one want's to believe me! windex works just fine on matte and glossy screens. if it really bothers you, then get windex without ammonia, it's vinegar based. both are streak free and work perfectly.

KidA, I don't know if you know much about chemistry, but ammonia and vinegar are rather strong acids, much to strong for an lcd.

I about fainted on that Windex recommendation.

You can "use" it but understand the more you use it the more it eats away the film and gloss (if you have gloss screen) application from it. Which is not a very good idea.

iKlear or the Monster one I suggested above both do not contain ammonia, alcohol or any harsh chemicals that can potentially damage an LCD.

I just did a quick google search for what lcd manufacturers recommend for cleaning the screens. The suggestions come in anywhere from distilled water only, to 50% isopropyl rubbing alcohol, Petroleum Benzine, and vinegar and water. I think i'll stick to my ammonia free windex with vinegar.

I do stand corrected on the ammonia. DONT USE IT :D

It might be worth the money, but Monster ScreenClean gets the job done by far, I have yet to see any streaks left by it or any other type of damage. I use it about once a month, sometimes more if my family decides to get hands with my screen.

iKlear is worth it, however I rather pay 20 and get more of something that works just as well as iKlear.

For all my lcd's I use a microfiber cloth and that is it. Once in a while if there is a smudge I will use a little water. If you have no fingerprints it should not get smudged too often.

I went out and picked up the monster stuff, and wow- i'm impressed.- The lens cleaner I used left it all streaky (at angles), but this stuff makes it look brand new again, just as it should stay.

Yeah, thanks for the tip- I really didn't want to order cleaning supplies off the internet, thats a little absurd.
