Basically, I've recently heard that Apple purposefully makes it so that you have to hold down the Caps Lock key for some time before it activates. This means that tapping it isn't enough to turn on the Caps Lock; you have to push it a bit harder or hold it down for a little. I used to think this was a hardware limitation, but I recently noticed that in Boot Camp it's much easier to activate the Caps Lock - all it requires is a tap like any other key.

So, is there any way to make the Caps Lock easy to press under OSX, too? Apple might have thought it was a useful feature but in reality it's very annoying...

i never had a problem.. you have to hold it down for like a full 0.5 seconds instead of just tapping it for 0.001 seconds...

Yeah it's the way it is in OSX, the purposely added delay before it engages, very annoying for fast typists.

I suppose I find the behavior odd, but I've never noticed, because I never use caps lock, because the key is odd in the first place.

Don't type in all caps :p (and "don't hold it that way")

I'm a seriously fast typist. I have to type reports for my business daily and I never use Caps Lock. Who really does? That feature is set in OS X to prevent accidental presses of that key and I for one am glad. Again, what normal touch typist would actually use Caps Lock?

Yeah, but what normal touch typist has ever accidentally activated caps lock?

The delay can sometimes be very annoying and I was hoping there was some way to turn it off.
