    Hey guys,
I recently created a new user account and when I have to authenticate, it asks for the password to the first account I created after I installed the OS. Since that account's deleted, I can't use that password, so nothing works. This problem only comes up for new accounts, which I'm assuming is because I just deleted my first account yesterday. I don't have my install CD anymore, so I don't know what to do. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Apple's site (searching Google "reset admin password mac") states that OS X generally requires an install disk for 10.6, although 10.7 and 10.8 will apparently allow you to reset the password with your AppleID. If all else fails, you might try this older protocol.

No claims as to likely success with any of these. Be sure to backup your data using Time Machine or something else in case anything goes wrong or you lose access to your user accounts in the process.

do you have any accounts... any name.. old or new that was made with Admin access? It shouldn't allow you to delete them all, it forces you too keep one. When it asks for an Admin password, it wants any admin account info, not the first one... just any one that has admin access.
