    Can you say that you lost your iPhone, then get SIM card into old fashioned non-smart phone, then get it into

    And how do you get by GPS function in iPhone? (I mean my mom wants to contract 2 years of more iphones in our family which I think is a bad deal but she says she needs the GPS - but there must be a cheaper way)

    You want the phone, you agree to the terms associated with getting that phone including the data plans which help to subsidize the cost of the phone so you don't have to pay $600 up front. "Losing" your phone to try and get around that is fraud.
