Hi all, today a friend of mine gave me her old 1.6ghz core duo mac mini as a late birthday present (yay!), so I set it up with my home network, my question is, can I set it up for two users, each with a different account, but accessing the same music library inside the internal hdd, yet each user account having different song ratings, playlists, etc.?

    thanks :D

I believe you can do that through just creating two library. I'm not sure exactly how accounts in mac works, as in if the iTunes library data will be different for each user, or if it all points to one. If it does point to one you can create a new library for iTunes by holding alt while opening it. Of course each would be different library.

Now if you want the same library, I don't think it's possible to have multiple ratings based on user accounts.

If you bring up System Preferences, the select Accounts to add users. Within iTunes there is a sharing feature, just need to set it up.
