Can the Macbook handle Galactic Civilizations II and Civilization IV? I know it uses the worst graphics (Intel GMA950) but will the game run smoothly with a 2 GHz processor? Thanks alot!

oh ****.. with a Intel GMA950.. I dunno.. it depends on the game (I don't know them).. if they are graphics intense and feature 3D stuff, then I'd have my doubts.. if it's "just" parallex scrolling and isometric stuff.. maybe it will work

Anyone else have knowledge of whether Intel GMA950 can handle those games? It should be fine since it's not as graphic intensive as Quake or Unreal Tournament, right?

Actually my year old Sony T250 will run Tomb Raider Legends at low 640x480 resolution and it does not even have a GMA950; it has a GME 855 or something like that. There is flicker but it is quite playable. Yet all the forums I've been to asking how the Macbook plays this game I never get an answer even tho I post the link to the free demo:

Tomb Raider Legends is Windows version only. I still wonder how it would play with boot camp.

Found a few threads discussing Civ IV performance at least on the MacBook:

It sounds like performance leaves something to be desired, although is OK for smaller maps.

Note that people are discussing both versions of Civ IV here (Civ IV under Windows, and the OS X port of Civ IV if you want to run it on OS X itself).

I haven't found any discussions of running Galactic Civilizations II, but it seems like the Intel GMA950 stuff should be able to handle it (the minimum requirement is a GeForce2 or better, and I've heard that the GMA950 is sort of equivalent to a GeForce3).

I played Civ IV on my Macbook under OS X, it runs alright. However, it has a very minor lag, which I feel would only increase as there becomes more stuff on the screen, this minor lag was on the Tutorial. Anyways, I'm not sure about performance of it under XP, I refuse to install it.
