Hi, I'm trying to run TF2 on my Macbook. I've heard that the best way is to use crossover. So I got that, installed steam and TF2. But the thing is, when I try to run it, the screen of the game is only partially showing at the bottom right. I don't want to run it in a small windows, I would like it to be full screen. Can anyone help me?

TF2 actually runs at playable quality on your Macbook in Crossover?
Anyway, I have no clue where you heard that the best way to run Windows games on a Mac is using Crossover, but that is definitely not true. If you want maximum performance and full control, you should use Bootcamp to dual boot Windows/OS X.
It is running in a small screen most likely because of your in-game graphics settings. Try changing the resolution setting in TF2 to 1280x800. -
Thanks Budding, and it is actually true.
TF2 is supposedly run better in Crossover because there's more ram to spare, or some other sort.
Anyways, thank you -
Hold on...surely running stuff in Crossover means that RAM is shared between the RAM hogging OS X and the Windows libraries that Crossover has to implement. Although it is probably more efficient than a virtual machine, how can it be better than running in the real thing - Windows via Boot Camp?

I agree with Budding. Boot camp is better for gaming man. Trust us.

The thing I like about Crossover is you don't need to bother installing windows. I'm not a gamer these days so the few times I might take a look at something windows-ish, Crossover would probably suit me just fine. One thing I do remember from my gaming days is that if you are in a first person shooter, every fps is important and can be the difference between fragging and being fragged. If gaming performance was important, I'd allocate the disk space to install Windows under parallels or boot camp. Everything I'm reading on this topic indicates Wine doesn't seem to quite do it.
Another issue is perceived performance. My last windows box was a 1.something ghz core solo with XP Pro that ran hot with a mere .7Gig of RAM. Now I'm sitting on a 2.2 Ghz core duo with 2 Gig of RAM. So the performance I might get inside Crossover would probably be better than what I could get on my old windows xp pro box. As long as I wasn't getting fragged every time I stuck my head up, I'd probably stick with Crossover. But don't listen to me as I'm not a serious gamer any more.
Can anyone help me?
