With a TV tuner, yes. Browse through Macmall and search "TV tuner."

Can you hardwire cable in through this device?

Is there DVR software included or would that already be onboard the computer?

    Thanks,

You would probably looking at an eyeTV tuner Elgato - North America

The tuner is usually plugged into a USB port and comes with the software to make it work. Most TV tuners come with a small aerial although they may need a connection to a roof aerial depending upon your location.

You would have to find a Tuner that is capable of decoding clear QAM. Meaning it has to have QAM in addition to ATSC. Clear QAM in most locations is at least channels 2-13. Some cable companies still broadcast SDTV which a NTSC tuner can receive. But the premium HDTV of most cable companies is Encrypted QAM and requires an addressable cable box or a computer tuner (for desktop computers) that allows a cable card.

They almost all come with software. It will say what it comes with in the ad or visit the website of the tuner you are interested in.
