Hi, I am planning to get a Macbbok to replace my windows pc. And I check the requirment for Aperture software on apple website, it doesn't say it support the Macbbok? Is this true because the Macbbok's video card is not fast enough?

How about the Photoshop? Will it run pretty well on Macbook? Or should I get the MBP to work on photo editing. Sorry for so many question. I am a newbie to the Mac. Any suggestion will be great!!

    Thx
    Sam

Well I read online of a few who said they got it to run, but I wouldn't trust the realiability of them. The reason why its not supported is mostly due to the fact that Aperture uses high resolution screens natively (higher than what MB has) however the MBP can run it.

Yes, it can aparantly run it, but Apple will not support Aperature on the MB. Mainly due to the fact that the MB resolution isnt' high enough. But it will run. The video card is fast enough, it's just due to the resolution. At least, thats how I understand it.

If you want to do photo editing in photoshop, I would recommend an external monitor (through DVI of course). Photo editing on a 13" screen will suck. I say go for the MBP :)

As a disclaimer I have never used Aperature. However, I have heard from several Aperature "experts" and they say it will be tough to run even on a MBP. Aperature is a pretty resource hungry program when it is used how it is supposed to be. If you can run Aperature on a MacBook, you probbly don't need Aperature in the first place.

Thanks for you guys. I think I better go to MBP. and I read this forum that MBP will have Merom within this few weeks. Should I wait for it and will it be the same price as current MBP?

    Short answer: Noone knows yet.
Longer answer: It seems likely to arrive soon and I don't see any reason why they would increase the price. They generally don't increase the price when upgrading hardware as far as I know.

Yes, it says that it needs a bigger screen to run, but I've heard of a few people who say it does work fine. It will come up wtih the error, but you can get past it. Not sure how, but yes, you can run it.
