    I think I messed up.

I was replacing the cd-drive with an opti-bay HDD, and by accident I pulled on that tiny camera cord that connects to motherboard.

Now, everything worse, except for camera. System says there's no camera connected. I'm pretty sure I broke it. My MBP 17 is still under warranty.

The question is: Can I put the cd-drive back and bring it to Apple store to get fixed under warranty? If not, what are my other options?

Well, it certainly wouldn't hurt taking your MBP down to your Apple Store and seeing if they can fix it. I would just make sure that you put everything back without any hint of it being taken apart. Technically speaking, OptiBay voids an Apple warranty (though replacing the HDD and RAM doesn't). So put everything back paying careful attention, take it down to your Apple Store, and see what they say. The worst thing they can tell you is that there are signs that you did the damage and they won't fix it.

If that is the case, you can either fix things on your own or take your MBP to a third party repair shop. The cord itself might be damaged, the connector to the logic board, maybe the cord became detached from the camera, etc. I don't think there really is a way to diagnose anything without seeing it in person.

    Kornchild,

Thank you for the advice. I will try that this weekend and see what happens...
