just curious - what resolution are you guys running COD4 on your mbp's (if you play COD4). I have all max settings with x4 AF and it seems i get decent fps at 800x600 only (30-40fps). at 1024x768 it slows to around 20-30 fps, too much lag for me.

    1280x800, Med-High settings.

Turn of AA. That's killing the framerates.

Turn off AA. That really kills performance. You should be able to play 1024x768 at 30-40 fps in single player, with occasional dips when theres a million things going on.

    EDIT: D'oh, I've been beat!

Are you using AA (Anti-Aliasing) or AF (Anisotropic Filtering)? Your topic post stated 4x AF. That wouldn't bring the frame rates down that much.

AA will kill your frames, but you can generally run up to 8x AF and have little frame loss and it'll improve the graphics significantly.

yeah it was actually AA. Turned it off, set the res to 1200 something, turned off the dynamic lighting then it was blazing at 50fps or so. i think the dynamic lighting has a big impact on fps, at least in mine... and yeah, the game is rather short.

It won't have as much impact as AA, but higher res still reduces jagged edges by a significant amount.
