Guys,if I buy a new macbook pro from ebay and it comes with some sort of defect-like dust under screen or some dead pixels-can I take it to apple store and have it replaced?

I would think you could, as long as it's still in the 1-year warranty that came with the computer. It's even better coverage on a wider range of defects with AppleCare. Anyways, as long as it's in warranty, I would assume it's Apple Replaceable.

I think you could since the warranty is based on the serial number. As long as its under warranty and they don't ask for a proof of purchase (since eBay is not an authorized dealer :p), you should be OK. But aren't those kind of defects not covered by the warranty except if its really problematic?

Yes, you can, everything is based on the serial number, you don't need the purchase note, etc...
I bought mine at eBay and I've already bought the applecare plan (at eBay too :p )

I think you could, but you better ask the seller in ebay if he can provide a replacement. I always read the replace/refund policy before bid and make sure they will replace if there is any defect.

as long as it isn't caused by accidental damage and is a reasonable claim you shouldn't have any issues.

also, I would definitely look into getting Applecare to make sure you won't have any problems at all in the future.

if you are looking for the unibody models, I wouldn't be worried about having many issues though.
