So obvisouly I'm not a US resident, nor am I planning on going there within the forseeable future. Yet, with the current euro/dollar exchangerate, it would easily safe 50 euro's (80dolalr) buying applecare from the US apple store as opposed to the Dutch one. Now I doubt apple US would send me a copy.

So I guess my question is: Am I allowed to buy a foreign applecare plan for my macbook (which is US bought btw - during an exchange program)? And if so...how would I go about it? Is it legal to buy them on ebay or something? Is there any particular seller or store anyone could recommend?

When I was in Houston, Texas I bought my wife's macbook and applecare but I'm a canadian citizen. I get full support on her machine. However I'm not sure if it's because I made both purchases in the U.S. or not....

I would ask apple to see if it matters; I don't think it should.

There are a lot of online retailers who sell applecare who give you the option to send you, via email, the applecare code from within the package so they don't have to ship anything or you paying for any shipping. It works well.

Just buy one on eBay from a reputable seller. DEFINITELY the easiest way. They e-mail you a code, and you're set. Simple. I got two MBP Applecares for $190 apiece, and a MacBook Air one for $150.
