Just a question to add one, does the student discount apply to refurbished models?

DO NOT BUY from gainsavers. It is all over the web. There are a scam. They sent me a broken computer and then made me pay for shipping back to them. I eventually got a partial (?) refund while dealing with very rude customer service. Google gainsaver reviews on the web and you will see this is a typical gainsaver transaction.
