I will probable be purchasing a Blackbook within this week. However, does anybody recommend where I should purchase it? Will there be any difference with quality if I purchase one in store rather than online? Basically, are there any suttle differences between buying online and buying in store? I don't want a refurbished one. I want a brand new Blackbook.

If a store is closeby, get it from there as it will save you a few days of shipping time. There will be no difference if you buy it online from Apple or in store from Apple.

The only difference is that if you want certain upgrades, you have to get it online. I just know that for the mbp you have to order online if you want a larger HDD. But either way go into the store, and see if you can get it there. Also youll be able to see the different screens, and see which one you want.

If you buy it online and there is a problem with the computer, you won't be able to return or exchange it at the store. You will have to ship it back to Apple.

If you are a state employee you may get about $200 discount.

Yeah, if you want to customize your Mac, then get it online. If you want to get your Mac right away, get it in store.

Well i think if you are not going to get it customized and can wait a few days, get it from amazon or something online that does not charge taxes in your state.

Its a good 100 dollars or so savings. AVOID EBAY IF POSSIBLE

Why Avoid Ebay? I am watching some bid on Ebay. It is really cheap. Could you please give me the reason?

BTW: I will only bid when the seller accept cash on collecion

I think online by phone is better, if you try it's easy to get some reduction in price!

Buying online is somewhat an advantage to due the online deals and customization opportunities. But if you want it now, go in person.

Sorry i meant to say avoid ebay if the price is similar to what you would pay online

I believe it is a good deal to save 100 - 150 by buying on amazon, however i do not think it as good a deal to save 75 - 100 by ebay over amazon, much more risk involved.

Just an opinion, but ebay is good if you plan on buying used or older technology.

I think I am just going to go in store, get a Blackbook while using my edcational discount, and then buy some RAM from Newegg.
