Hi,
I'm think of buying the basic model Macbook, my question is whether I should buy one now or wait for Leopard to be released. Also when Leopard is released is it then worth waiting six months to a year before buying a Macbook with Leopard just in case of software problems.
Thanks.

Well Leopard's release date is anything but official right now. Estimates put it anywhere between April and June 2007. The bigger thing you should be waiting for is the Santa Rosa platform, or whatever Apple will be using from it. It'll have faster (800MHz bus) processors and a more powerful integrated video card.
I'd expect both Leopard and Santa Rosa to come out for Mac around the same time. Intel puts Santa Rosa's release around May, so if you can wait till then, I think it'll be worth it. -
I'd wait... Plus we may see the 12" MBP and a 15" MB by then... who knows!
It's not worth waiting 6 months, but it could be out in 2-3 months. -
If you need it now, buy it now but if you can wait, wait

Since you only want the basic Macbook and nothing special, you can get it now if you really want to.

I would buy when you are ready to buy. The next release of the MacBooks will be billed as light years faster, but you will probably not notice a huge difference. As far as Leopard, if it follows Tiger's pricing, it will only be $129, $69 if you have the student discount, so I don;t think waiting more than a month is worth saving around $100. You buy these to use them, and the amount of time you can use it before the next refresh is the trade off.
Buy Macbook now or wait for Leopard
