I have several .avi movies that I want to burn onto DVD so I cant watch them through my XBOX elite.

What would be the best way to do this without compromising quality? I've tried iDVD but the quality is significantly lowered.

You could try Burn Burn | Get Burn at SourceForge.net Its worked well in the past when I create photo shows in Windows Movie Maker and have them converted to mp4 files for others, burn loves them. Its a bit limited but works ok.
