As the title says im owner of a broken mid 2010 mbp 15' inches. Actually i dropped beer over it and it stopped working. Everything is still good beside the MB and the keyboard, what should I do? Fixing it means to spend 900+ euros and i'm not into buying the things and try to fix it.

The question is: is there any hope to gain some money from it? If yes how?

depend where you live, i live in Montreal there is some guys that buy LCD to use for repairing others mac.

I know they charge $150 for replacing the LCD with the use part that he bough, so my guess that be buy at 50%, so somewhere between $75 to $100

2010 model ... I would guess the 40-60 euro mark possibly depending on the market.

if the motherboard is gone in it you more or less call that machine a full write off.

The computer, miraculously, started to work again. It does charge and everysingle port is working. The keyboard is not, seems like it has been corrupted and you've blocks of keys togheter :O

Considering it a desktop replacement ( things I may not stand 'due to the lack of portability ) what do you think may be a good price for it? 400?

Buy a keyboard, fix it yourself, clean the mobo with some alcohol and sell the thing for what it is actually worth.

OP, and by "alcohol", rossman doesn't mean beer. ;)

FYI, I've replaced keyboards in a mbp before. But requires same model donor keyboard (ie. 17" mbp kb won't work in 15"). It is alot of screws, but if you can find a donor it may be worth it to you.

I would part it out. Take it out and post the parts on Ebay.

Try this first. Use the highest % rubbing alcohol that you can find.

Sticky keys on keyboard... mite as well soak the mb and the keyboard in a sealed bucket of highly concentrated alcohol for an hour and dry it off then test again
