The old school black MacBook looked pretty nice. It looked much nicer than the gloss white ones.

My very first Mac was a black MacBook, then passed it on to my daughter when she was in high school.

I do like the mental finished but man, the black ones were so nice.

Edit - the black piano finish I think would look awesome on the new models.

Piano black? As in glossy black? As in.... look, here's every fingerprint ever in history on your piano black MacBook?

Gonna have to pass on that.

Although I do like the black, there's no way to do it feasibly. They could anodize the aluminum black, but that would chip and scratch over time looking very ugly. They could also go plastic again, but I don't ever see Apple doing that for their notebooks. Plastic isn't premium.

If they could just take Space Gray and make it a bit darker, that would be ideal. Space Gray tolerates scratches and abrasion better.

As a professional in the metal coating/anodizing/working community, I can tell you that if your anodizing flakes off it's not anodized. it would scratch, but will NOT flake. I do this as my profession. Real anodizing creates a bond with metals that will not flake off, you can scratch through it. If it flakes its a paint made to look like anodizing. But a black MB with touchscreen, I would be in line for it.
