Does any one know how to fix this problem???

I want to install windows by Bootcamp. But I've found some problem about a partition on my HDD.
My MacbookPro HDD has 27 GB free space remain. And it's has only 1 partition on HDD. I try to create a new partition, 10-15 GB on my HDD for Bootcamp. I just want to run windows for some program, some games. But it always show "verification failed", "don't have enough space", "partition failed"...etc. on bootcamp and disk utility

I've seen some thread about a partition for bootcamp problem on some website. Some solution such as

    1. use iDefrag for HDD then try to create a new partition.
    2. Shrink your HDD space (disk utility) , revert , then try to create a new partition by Bootcamp.
    3. Try to remove some files, that size is over 1 GB, then try to make a new partition.
    4. Backup your harddrive, reinstall then try to create a new partition (I don't want to do this)

I try it but it won't work.
Does any one know how to fix this problem??? Some program to fix this or some method to ....
    Thanks for your suggestion.

PS. After I bought my MacbookPro late 2008, Once I try windows on bootcamp. (4 months ago) It has no problem. Then I switched to VMware and deleted bootcamp partition. So now I just want to play some games, use some program on Windows that VMware can't. How can I do it???

Simple, you need to free up more space or replace it with a larger HDD.

You need at least a 30GB partition as Boot Camp recommends.

I installed W7 RC on my Macbook via Bootcamp using only a 20GB partition, and install went fine. Of course, before that I had to go back and redo my HDD because I had used the wrong partition table when I dropped the WD in there (which turned out to be incompatible with Bootcamp) - two full system clones to fix that little mistake was a pain in the neck.

There could be a problem that surfaced with your partition table that happened after you deleted the first Bootcamp, perhaps. The thing is that DiskUtility isn't always able to fully perform the checks and repairs on an active system disk - there's a tutorial around MacWorld or somewhere that talks about booting with the Leopard DVD and then starting DiskUtility from there to run all the diagnostics and repair.

if you only have 27gb free.. you need to do some major cleaning up of your drive if your wanting to add more partitions. If you try to just barely scrape by you will have problems in both OSes

Free up some space or get a bigger hard drive. 10-15 gb for windows is not a lot, especially if you want to install games, since most games are in the 4-6 gb range.

I know why it wont let you. Simply put there is alot of fragmented data cells on your HD. When bootcamp creates a partition it takes the empty unfragmented sectors of space and clumps them together while pushing the fragmented sectors away to create the partition. Right now seeing as how you only have 27 gigs left you must have alot of data on your hd and must have done alot of erase copy paste of files..
I have gone through this problem to.
The only way to fix this problem is if you do a complete defrag of your hard drive which can take you 7+ hours depending on your hard drive or back your files up onto a time machine, and then use your OS X install disk install OS X again to completely wipe your HD, and then back up from time machine and install Bootcamp like that.

Believe me I've tried every other tip that was online when I had this issue and I ended up just doing the time machine / clean install thing because a complete defrag of a 500gb hd would have taken me 9 hours..

I have this problem also.. I think after I installed vmWare it started doing this partition error.. or maybe i installed vmware because I got this error... I cant seem to remember.. but now that windows 7 is out Id like to try that.. because I still need windows for some programs..

Im gonna try that defragment route and if that doesnt work then i dont know what im gonna do..I think maybe ill just try the partition after the snow leopard install...
