Hello Everyone, Just got myself a broken LCD, 2008 T8300 MBP for about 300 dollars with a new LCD on its way. Everything in this laptop works great ( aside from the LCD, and the battery says Service, but it works great )

When I try to install Bootcamp and launch my Windows 7 Disc, I'm unable to get it to display on my external monitor. Normally, if I turn the MacBook on and shut the screen fast. I am able to use it without a problem. But When the Windows Installer launches, I can't find a way to get it to go to the external screen, It only displays on the broken LCD, even when the lid is closed. Any Idea?

You might need to install the Bootcamp drivers from the SL / install disk.

That would require Windows being installed.

well if your already going to switch out the internal display pretty soon... you could always open it up and unplug the internal... I've never tried it, but then the machine might see the external as the only display all the time...???

Great suggestion, I actually just tried that, but still no luck. I think it has something to do with what machine you have, it picks it up as a macbook and then will always try internal LCD. I guess i may need to find a way to remove the check for model, or wait until it comes.

Have you tried to use a usb keyboard and mouse?
Turn on the mbp, close the lid right away during chime.
Then it should work on the external monitor alone.
Be sure to use the magsafe power so sleep switch does not kick in
