    Hi everybody,
    I just bought my new macboook pro 15.4" :D and it's my first mac ever, I was wondering if the new mbp includes the bootcamp, does it? (i will use vista only for windows apps)

    it does, just search on spotlight (top-right corner)..
    you'll need windows install discs to install windows though

    Just hit Command+Space on your keyboard to invoke Spotlight (the best in searching) and search for Boot Camp Assistant.

    And make sure you have your Windows install CD/DVD, because you'll need them to install it.

    The Boot Camp assistant will help you partition your HDD and start the Windows installation...

    Hi there,

    Just wondering how stable bootcamp is on the new Macs? I've read a few problems about driver issues, trackpad not working, etc. Are these all fixed now?

    Also is Vista64 Supported do you know? And if so how stable is that?

    Any feedback on this would be great from Mac users who have done this.

    I run Vista on my MBP, not many problems and runs games fine. Just the sometimes it would freeze, but I think that could be the printer driver,.

    I find myself not using it as often as I thought I would.

    There are no stability issues with Boot Camp. (remember it's not virtualization - you actually boot into Windows.) The latest (2.1) drivers provided by Apple work just great on my new Macbook Pro (2.53) with XP SP2.

    I've had no trackpad issues what-so-ever. I seldom use it though, I use an external mouse, other than that, video drivers from laptopvideo2go.com are best.

    I'm not sure about 64bit though. It seems Apple officially only supports 32bit. People HAVE installed 64bit with a bit of hassle.

    Windows is rock solid on the MBP using Boot Camp. If you want less hassle, stick with the 32-bit version of either XP or Vista. Loading the 64-bit versions is possible, as cdnalsi says. A couple considerations though:

    1. Single-tapping on the trackpad for clicks still isn't supported by Boot Camp. Why Apple doesn't support it yet is beyond me, especially for such a simple thing.
    2. The 32-bit versions of Vista/XP will only use 3 GB of RAM, even if you have 4 GB's installed.

    Everything else is supported on the MBP, although I can't confirm the trackpad gesture support. Enjoy the new MBP!

    Arhh that's great to know!
    I've read in some places people having problems with lock ups, etc. But maybe they were just unlucky.

    Good to know most people are having no issues running Vista :)

    I'm pretty excited about my new mbp, but i'm still waiting for it...!!!
