    i have a 2008 macbook w/ 2ghz core 2 duo


    i used bootcamp a while ago and i also used drivers from the original apple dvd

    i have some problems with it

    -brightness does not work
    -trackpad can only right click w/ double finger tap


    any help would be appreciated :D

    I believe that functionality is normal with older MacBook Pros and that Apple didn't open up the ambient light sensor until rather recently with the 2010/2011 MBPs. You can customize the trackpad more if you download a 3rd party program, that might also work with the backlight for the display.

    not the ambient light sensor, the display won't dim when fn+F1 is pressed (the dimming icon shows tough)

    When was the last time you updated boot camp? I know this was posted a few weeks ago, but there have been, I think, two updates to bootcamp since I installed it on my 2010 core i7 MBP15 about a year ago, and many things were fixed like track pad wonkiness and keyboard backlight. There was an update right after Lion was released too.
