Sorry if this has been answered before, but I searched and couldn't find responses.

I'm having a strange issue - when in Windows XP SP3 under Boot Camp on my MBP, if I launch World of Warcraft, the computer thinks that it's fully charged and stops drawing power from the wall (the Magsafe indicator goes green too). My computer, of course, eventually dies and has to charge back up. When I quit WoW and go back to the desktop, though, it realizes that it's low on power and charges up. Restarting didn't help. Since I can play hours of the game before it crashes, I think it's sort of jumping in and out of charging, such that I get pretty good battery life playing, but I still end up going into standby. Has anyone had an issue like this?

If what you say is true then all our knowledge of how a computer works it out the window...

OK seriously that's very odd, my understanding of how the battery charging system works is that the OS is a slave to the process, i.e. it can display the information given by the hardware but not directly controlling the charging process, I have never heard of any software that can control a battery charge (and rightly so, imagine the consequence of the software malfunctioning) but your symptom would directly contradiction my understanding and can only be explained by if software can control the charging process instead of the hardware circuits (granted its not working as it should if that is true)

I also wanted to add that I have seen plenty of cases windows reporting the wrong state of my charge (sometimes it even says I have no battery in when its charging) but you are saying the LED on the mag cable confirms your states.

It's throwing me for a loop too - this has happened two nights in a row (but hadn't happened before). I'll be playing for several hours, and then the computer will go to standby, and the battery LEDs report that the battery is almost dead, yet the charger light is still green. Unplugging and replugging the charger got it to go orange, and then once I could get back into the OS, it would still recharge, until I relaunch the game. Then, after a short while, the charger would go back to green.

I'm seriously at a loss here...

You aren't by any chance using a 60W Macbook adaptor are you (as opposed to a 85W MBP adaptor)? To find out, multiply the A value with the V value which are written on your Apple charger.
