I have been away from this site for quite some time, and I'm basically a PC guy. Never had a mac but I'm looking forward to the upcoming refresh mac assuming it will have high-res display(read 2x current res), Ivy Bridge and have gigabit Ethernet. All 3 will be consider deal breaker for me. But let's assume that it will be my first mac, what is a good book recommendation for a guy like me?
My background is quite PC extensive, I'm well familiar w/ hardware and software(on the PC). Have built quite a few system myself, ranges from low-power, gaming rig and even server. I have both Windows XP, 7 and Linux system at home. I use whatever that suite me. So, if Mac notebook will be the first with high-res screen then it will suite me. So, what book should I pick up if I'm going to start playing with a Mac considering my background?

Nothing. You're setting yourself up for disappointment. The technology isn't there yet. Not only that, but even if a 15" retina panel was realistic hardware wise- OS X isn't ready for it.

I don't think you need a book. I've never used a Mac before and I picked up OS X incredibly fast when I bought my first MBP a little over a month ago. It's either intuitive or similar to windows enough that I rarely required any googling to figure anything out.

You don't really need to purchase a book or anything.

Take a look over at macrumors.com

In the Mac guide section of the forums, they put together a pretty good comprehensive list of everything you need to know about OS X.

Or just google/youtube whatever you need to learn, it's all out there.

I don't personally like manuals, but there's always something like this:
Mac OS X Lion: The Missing Manual by David Pogue
    http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1449397492

Macs have had gigabit ethernet for many years.
