So I am in the market for a Bluetooth enabled mouse that will work on my macbook under Mac OSX and Windows running bootcamp.

I guess my main question is ......... does anybody have any recommendations??.....

and am I better off buying a bluetooth enabled keyboard/mouse combo so I can use it when I plug my macbook on an external monitor.

    Thanks!!!

Good question. I don't currently use a bluetooth mouse, so I can't really offer any specific recommendations. I noticed that the pickings seem to be kind of slim when it comes to Bluetooth mice. I can say that if you find a Logitech or Microsoft bluetooth mouse, you should be in pretty good shape (both are pretty good at OS X support for their mice).

Another one maybe to take a look at is this:

    http://www.macmice.com/mousebtii.html

Which is sort of a competitor for Apple's own Mighty Mouse, but a more standard type of mouse.

As far as keyboard/mouse combo; I guess it couldn't hurt if you find a good bundle and you like the keyboard as well.

Well, Apple has a kensington bluetooth mouse in Apple store, and many reviews have been pretty much positive for it, I'd go and look at that.

Currently I have the bluetooth keyboard from Apple that I use with my macbook when its connected to the external monitor and its great. I would imagine in some sense buying this keyboard and that kensington would be cheaper than buying a keyboard/mouse BT combo, those seem to go for a lot of money. Anyways search around for options.

I highly recommend Apples BT keyboard because you're going to pretty much have for-sure compatibiliy for a long time with any OS X upgrades/updates. I would avoid Mighty Mouse BT however, as there are a lot of problems with it at the time being.

I use a Logitech V270 and it is great. It is a portable though, so it would not work if you wanted a full-size. For a full size I would recommend the Kensington PilotMouse. I tried a MS Bluetooth and returned it. Junk.

I just looked at my box my keyboard came in and the Requirements don't state windows anywhere on it, so the best answer I can give you is no.

The bluetooth Apple keyboard can work under Windows as long as you pair it. I think depending on the bluetooth you have on the PC, you might have to do some funky stuff with passkeys, etc. to get it to pair properly.

If you're gonna go ahead and use it for two computers, you might as well just find a third party manufacturer that is compatible with both operating systems, I know the ones at my workplace even have both windows and apple keys on it.
