    if i had to buy a macbook id pay the premium for the black. there are too many white ones at my school and they look like toys when i see alot of them.

    Not sure about that, but yea... ridiculous premium for the color.

    The second gen. price difference was technically only $50 -- but only because they raised the price of the hard drive upgrade to make it look like you were paying less for black. They were charging $150 for the upgrade from 80 GB to 120 GB (I think that's what it was). That's absurd! So it was really still the same deal as the first gen -- $200 for black and a really minor HD upgrade. I guess with the 3rd gen., they've mostly dropped that pretense.
