    Hi all, I have a 2010 15" Macbook Pro.
Suddenly, when I start it up, it just boots to a black screen. I've googled trying to find a solution, but it seems like most of the stuff I find is related to 2008 models.
Any tips on what I can try??
    Thx!!!

use a flashlight or something else at angles and see if there is anything on the screen and if its just the backlight is off... I had this happen after an update on my 2008 one time, and i could see the log in, but the screen backlight wasn't on... i was able to figure it out and log in and then the screen brightness keys started working and i could turn it back up.

if the screen really has nothing on it... when does it go black? is there ver anything on the screen? You can try booting safe mode

    1. Does it make any noises, sounds or beeps? — if yes possible gpu / screen failure.
    2. Does your screen show at least something at any point? — if no possible gpu / screen failure. If yes hdd / system failure.
    3. Whats your battery charge. If 0 — ac adaptor / battery failure
