My wife is thinking of getting a MBA in December. From your past experience would I be able to get a good deal around Thanksgiving time or the price pretty much stays the same all year round? Thanks!

Probably not thru Apple - if so, the discount would be minimal. Might be better to check out Best Buy, Amazon, or other authorized online retailers

Through Apple the best deal is usually the student discount (if your in school/affiliated with a University). I got $100 off, a free Ipod touch (I upgraded to 32gb) + a $100 free printer. That was over Summer however.

I think Amazon/Best Buy might knock some off, but Apple products rarely go on sale.

Also there's no guarantee that Apple will offer any discount on the MBA. They've never offered BF specials on "all" of their products, historically they've chosen certain models and probably the more profitable ones. I don't think the MBA is a very profitable machine.

the MBA and MBP are both very strong sellers in Apple's computer lineup. I'm not sure what this has to do with the possibility of a BF sale. I wouldn't expect anything.

Even if Best Buy has a deal, it will only be around $100-$200 off (or come with that level of a Best Buy gift card) and you have to ask yourself if you are willing to save such little (in the grand scheme of things, $100 isn't much when compared to $1500) by essentially going to Best Buy at 6:00 PM Thanksgiving day to wait in line with everyone else.

I always looked for Apple deals and really no discount.

The Student Deal is probably the best deal around but that is still minimal.

The Bottom Line is Apple is the Number 1 Brand in the world....They dont need to go "on-sale"
