Okay, so it's actually a building, but it's still pretty funny.

I wonder which one would be more of a pain in the ass to use as a mouse.

That must be a really expensive design and is actually one of the most amazing architectural design I've seen.

Look at the ground is that marble, granite, or slate? Whatever it may be it's encompassing a very large area and had to be very very expensive also.

Yeah, Beijing is really being transformed for the 2008 Olympics. Some of the structures there are just stunning.

Yes, they are but it just raises the pollution levels.

That first one must be a great feat! I just want to ask "How the hell?!?!"

I really like the Beijing 2008 Olympics main stadium its such a amazingly thought out vast structure.

I'm very interested in architecture as you might know. :)

They should have pushed green building practices. Might have gotten people interesting in that kind of stuff.

    Hi

That 'Apple' mouse building certainly looks interesting.

I've been to Shanghai and I can tell you the buildings are way overboard. In the sense that, the authorities want to show that China is king of the world, so they ask the officials to build space age and lotsa modern looking buildings to achieve that effect. No kidding.

The buildings you see, not just in China, but also in places like Dubai and Singapore (the Esplanade) have also such characteristics. Here's a picture of the Esplanade in Singapore:

That's part of the point why Beijing got the 2008 Olympics. They would like to establish a new status quo and show the influx of China.

Well, the architects are wondering the same, as they don't get to know how to finish it!! The building, as you may know, will be the new headquarters of the Public TV Broadcaster, CCTV.

    Cheers

A country wants to establish themselves as a modern society now all the sudden it is propaganda to show that they want to be 'the king of the world'? What do you expect them to do? Stay in the 1920s?

I think we are just to greedy over here, and want to get every possible dollar for the cheapest price, so we just make big blocks for a "cheap" price and call it a day.
