Does anyone have recommendations for a Bible program that works on a MBP?

I've been using E-Sword on my Windows based PC, but they don't make it for a Mac.

    Thanks,

Logos seems extensive ( Mac disclaimed), but it's very pricey (for most versions, at least). A good free one is MacSword. Here's a list of several others at varying costs.

Seems a multi-translation Bible read/search program isn't too hard to find, but the price-tags start to escalate with the wide range of study resources that they include (for example, the Platinum version of Logos is about $1700 but apparently includes almost $20K of materials in print value).

Best of luck and let me know if you find anything good.

    Thanks guys.

I had Logos on my Windows based computer. I actually used E-Sword more, because I found the interface easier to navigate. I wonder if I can get my Logos program transferred to the Mac OS?

I was just looking at Accordance this morning, before I went to work. In the meantime I downloaded some free programs:

Bible Explorer - Free Bible Software for Mac and PC

MacSword > Bible study software for Mac OS X

How do you like the user interfaces on the programs you guys are using?

I don't use any programs, except on my phone since it's always with me on the go. Since I'm always in the browser BibleGateway.com suffices. But if you happen to find something that you highly recommend do let me know and I'll try it out.

To be honest, I still prefer paper, even not in the face of spending a few hundred dollars on a program. :)

Accordance has been fantastic for me. In fact, I like it much, much better than PC Study Bible that I used in Windows. There is a learning curve and if you pick it up make sure you get the training dvd; it absolutely was worth the money.
I haven't used Logos, but have heard good things about it. It's just that Accordance has some pretty heavy-duty study/research modules that have been very useful to me.

I've been trying to figure out a way to do that too, I think maybe I should just call and ask about it.

Also which is easier to use and overall better, Accordance or Macsword? If a transfer of license isn't possible for Logos I think I would look into these.

I agree completely. I have used several different Bible Software programs. Accordance is the best. But it does have a bit of a learning curve.

Please note - you don't need the training DVD. The training videos are posted online at the accordance website.

    Good news.

I emailed Libronix, the maker of Logos and they sent me a link to download the Mac "engine". After downloading this, I installed all the Bibles, commentaries, dictionaries, etc that were on my Windows computer.

The Mac version is still in development, so all the features that are in the Windows version are not functioning yet.

Logos Bible Software - Bible Study has never been easier!
