Do any of you know of any useful add-ons for the expresscard /34 slot in the MBP? I was doing some research and saw companies make ssd for the format but they are expensive and the max capacity they offer is 32gb. I also saw some fairly inexpensive media card adapters. Are the two options I mentioned (SSD, media card adapters) the best options to fill the expresscard slot or are there better accessories that any of you use?

When I get my laptop, I will most likely also buy the Belkin Expresscard eSATA thinger (just reviewed on this site). eSATA is teh hotness.

well good luck on getting an expresscard 54 to fit in a 34 slot

Personally, I think the best use would be a card reader. Its unobtrusive, and really shouldn't stick out at all, while being very useful.

Well expresscard can be used for:
here a site that list where you can buy the above modules(make sure they have 33mm width becuase they list both 54 and 34) .

Thanks for the info. I think I am just going to wait until they come out with cheaper larger Solid State Hard Drives b/c I cheaped out and got the 120gb HD in my MBP and I don't want to void my warranty by replacing it...

Those broadband internet ones look nice, but the monthly cost is way too much, at least for someone like me who doesnt really "need" it.

I bought an express card reader so I can easily import photos from my camera.

What do the cards look like when in? Specifically a card reader, any silver ones out there to match the mbp?

I stuck a SSD card in there because I don't like carrying extra accessories with me all the time. Can be used for Readydrive for Vista too if you use boot camp. Size is a bit small and speed isn't great, but it'll work for now until something better comes along.
Best use of expresscard /34 slot
