    Hi there,

I'm just wondering... I've got a lot of unorganized music and I don't want to play it with iTunes as it adds to music and this will clutter up my organised iTunes library. What is the best media player apart from iTunes?. Similar to Winamp for Windows.

I got the feeling we were talking about OS X software, since the OP mentioned "similar to Winamp for Windows"...

yeh, It's the best media player for OSX besides iTunes. I've been looking and their aren't many. I want something basic such as Quicktime but has a playlist function in it.

If its just to listen to one track here and there, you can't beat 'quicklook'.
Just press space bar and the track will start playing.
great, simple and very fast !

I would love there to be Winamp for OSX. I've tried to looking for applications, nothing exists. The only option is using VLC player which is what i use anyways for videos. VLc is ok at music and it has a playlist, so....

Songbird is one of the few true iTunes alternatives I like.. and VLC works for playing individual songs
