Simple question. Which e-mail client is better?

I would say Apple Mail in Leopard does the job fine. If you'd prefer not, you can try Entourage from Microsoft Office (if you have/get that) or Mozilla Thunderbird :).

I think Apple Mail is the most easy to use and user friend one.

Entourage has the best intergration of calendar and contact along with MS Office, it's the best for if you use exchange email.

And Thunderbird, is for techie people used to hack around, and will mozilla extensions.

Personally, I prefer Thunderbird. It works beautifully well with IMAP Gmail. But I have to admit that I'm more iased because I used it and Outlook a lot before I had a Mac, so I'm naturally more used to it. I fins Apple mail is nice, but just too simple and slow with IMAP syncronising

I think apple mail is perfect...after setting it up as an imap instead of pop...everything has been smooth...

I used to use apple mail to send out my email but it did not do the spam job well. It categorized my normal email as spam

I only give my vote to MS Entourage because its what I use currently and have the most experience with. I have tried Apple Mail as well as Thunderbird, but I didnt use either long enough to form an opinion either way

Apple Mail is very well built, for general purpose email management. I've tried Entourage, but always ended up using Apple Mail for its simplicity and quickness in downloading new mail.

GMail web interface with Google Notifier + Growl. It is simple, clean, fast, and available anywhere. However, it is not quite on par with desktop clients for folders and rules.

I have tried both Thunderbird and Mail.app. Mail.app is horrible with handling IMAP in my opinion. It is slow and inaccurate. I wish it handled IMAP as well as POP because it would be my preferred mail client.

Thunderbird is excellent for IMAP, but I cannot go with a program that is no longer going to be actively developed according to Mozilla. I think Thunderbird is near the end.

Never used Entoutrage so I can't comment on that.

I've used Entourage, and the core deficiency with it is that it doesn't sync with my BB in a reasonably fashion - I don't want to use hacks to get it working. The default Apple apps, while in some cases problematic, are good enough for my daily use. While Mail won't win awards for much (other, perhaps, than ease of use) it's good enough for most of my daily needs.
