I'm ordering one tonight. I'm just wondering if there's a better deal to be had before I place my order with Amazon.com for $1218 shipped (after rebate).

I know Mac Connection has it for $1150 and Mac Mall for $1200 (both after rebates), but I don't trust those stores. I've heard of too many rebate problems, late shippings, and some guy said he ordered in December and got a serial number for a Macbook from October (possibly means nothing, but it does seem odd, no?). I know they've been around forever, but the $70 extra is worth it to know store is reliable and if I have any problems, they will be helpful. Unless of course my views of those stores is off? They're based on some forums and resellerratings.com.

Anyway, are there any other places with great customer service and quick shipping for a better price? I know this whole ebay option is out there, but I'm just not sure I trust that either when it comes to a big purchase like this.

    Thanks!

im not sure if the live cashback deal is still going on, but i know some people were able to get their aluminum macbooks off of ebay (brand new) for around 1000 after applying the cashback coupon. might want to check it out.

I couldn't get the ebay thing to work. I don't think I would've ordered it on there anyway. Either way, I ended up just picking it up for $1200 plus tax.
