Either of those bags look good, but may weigh more than the Air. You don't need a computer bag. Any portfoleo large enough to fit a legal pad will be large enough for the Air.

And all you really need to bring along for most routine usage is the Air itself and maybe the 45w adapter.

Other items might include the external optical drive or the usb/ethernet and maybe a small usb hub.

But this latter list of items is not an absolute necessity for something like taking notes in a class or a quiet session of writing at a picnic table in the park.

    Yeah true they weigh 1,4kg.

    What is a portfoleo?

I do want to able to hang it around my shoulder while I'm walking or cycling.

By portfoleo, I'm referring to one of the smaller bags you can get to lug your stuff around. Now that you've mentioned biking, I would suggest a backpack style. A lightweight backpack will look like something kids carry to school but it is well suited to your situation carrying your MBA while biking. I found one $69 example at 2.2 pounds from Target and there are other examples at tough traveler.com Lastly, here are some examples available on your side of the pond.

Thanks a lot for the recommendations but I prefer the style of a shoulderbag.

Messengerbags can be interesting too. Preferably brown leather.
