What would most folks recommend as a good size partition for Vista if I am only going to game on it. Also, the bootcamp instructions say to only use Vista 32...will 64 not work? Thanks in advance for any insight...

Since there's already oodles of threads addressing this exact question, how about doing a quick search and thereby finding more information than you'll need?

Not to mention the big sticky "How to run Windows on a Mac" thread right at the top of the forum.

i would recommend more.. maybe about 80GB.

As games nowadays take up quite a lot of space, eg Age of conan.. was it like 35-40 GB ? for installation? even Gears of war for pc takes like 8 GB i think. I could be wrong.. so it really depends what kind of games you want to play.

Thanks blackmac and bravefire. I'll go with 50 and see how that goes. Would do more, but I deferred to the 250g 7200 with the intent of going with the 500g 7200 when available or SSD when they get to 256g+ (and affordable)...

definitely at least 50. i had vista on my old blackbook and it wouldn't install sp1 after i limited it to 20gb because 19gb's were already used up. i only had a few 40mb programs installed too.

It depends on your hd size and how much you are willing to give up. I'm using a 320gb drive and allotted 100gb for gaming with Vista 32. You'd be extremely surprised how much room you can eat up, especially with Steam games. I've got Guild Wars, Oblivion, Warhammer, Assassin's Creed, Fallout 3, NWN2, and with a few big downloads have about 21.3 gb free space. Honestly, if you enjoy games and can afford the space I definitely don't think 100gb is overkill by any means. I'm very glad I chose this size instead of 80 or 90 like I originally planned.

Can this be changed or do you have to basically reinstall bootcamp to change the partition?

You can use WinClone (free) to make an image of your Boot Camp partition, wipe the partition and re-create it (making it larger), and then use WinClone again to restore the image.
