As some of you guys know there's a promo going on right now where you can receive up to $100 dollars back if you purchase a printer with a Mac.

I'm thinking of grabbing a 13" MBP tomorrow, and was wondering which printer I should get.

    Promo page here:
    http://store.apple.com/us-k12/browse/home/campaigns/printer_promo

I might be selling it, so one with a high resale value would be great.

EDIT: Also, quick question about education pricing:

Is a K-12 STUDENT eligible for the education pricing? Is a student that is entering college eligible for the education pricing? What about a parent with a student entering college and is buying on his or her behalf? What would one need to bring to be eligible for the education pricing?

I think a .edu email is enough to get the discount, yes it is for college students, so you need to have some way of showing them you are entering college.

Dunno if its the best, but I have the Canon PIXMA MP610. Apple is offering the PIXMA MP620 for $150. I really like it. I've had Epsons in the past and will be getting Canons from now on. Good image quality, and pretty quick when doing text. If you were to get one of the ones for $99 then I'd go with the Canon again over the HP.

Maybe check out what they are going for on Ebay before you make your decision.

I might keep the printer though - my old color laser Dell 3000cn isn't Mac compatible and I already tried Gutenberg/Ghostscript drivers.

Check out what ink will cost you, some time's it cheaper to just buy a new printer then to buy more ink :)

    +1 for Canon.
    +0 for HP
    -1,000,000 for epson.
Canons have cheaper ink replacements, allow you to change the ink when you want and still print when one colour is reported to be out.
Every epson I have had or used has sucked balls. Want to print some black/white text... but have run out of yellow... sorry no go. Oops removed the blue which was still full, sorry thats now dead, please insert a brand new one. I will never ever use epson again.
I have a Canon Pixma 4000 thats about 4 years old. Still works like new.. thats pretty amazing I think.

If you're going to buy the Cannon Pixima, buy it from here instead if you're from Canada. It's about $120 cheaper than the price from Apple and you don't have to deal with the "money back" thing. No rebates, no catch.

Though, I would suggest this instead
    http://www.ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=34036&vpn=CLP-310/XAA&manufacture=Samsung&promoid=1087

Samsung colour laser printer for $140, $10 cheaper than the cannon inkjet printer from apple's site.

Man.. apple and things on apple's site is so expensive.

Though, iRam is probably more expensive. It's also pretty fast as well. :> Heh..
