    After discovering that ordering from the actual Apple site is likely to mean a two week wait before the Macbook is actually in my hands, I am now looking at other options.

    Currys have the 2.2ghz model in stock, but I can't find anywhere that states whether they actually have it in their warehouse, or if 'in stock' just means that will order it from Apple.

    Any suggestions as to places that I can purchase one from with quick delivery times would be greatly appreciated.

    You might as well just go into any apple authorised reseller, the prices are all the same from what I've noticed, and then you only have the 2 minute wait while they grab the box from out back :)

    Both PC World and Currys stores usually have standard spec Macbooks in stock.... just depends if you can put up with the diabolical service.......

    Pick a student friend of your and go with him/her to the apple shop where you can immediately get the macbook along with your friend's discount.
